Overview

Allianz Arena, Munich: use the official FC Bayern block plan below to locate your ticketed section. The U6 to Fröttmaning and the Esplanade are the usual home-supporter approach; visiting supporters follow a separate north-west route. Check your fixture ticket for the exact gate, block and current entry instructions.

Stadium layout

This FC Bayern block plan shows the numbered sections across three tiers and the standing areas. Use it to identify the section on your ticket, then check your specific entrance, row and seat in the current club guidance. Away allocation can vary by match and competition.

Allianz Arena seating plan: where should you sit?

Quick answer

First visit

Central Haupttribüne or Gegengerade

Choose a central, mid-height sector here when you want to follow both goals, player movement and tactical shape without an extreme angle.

Atmosphere

Südkurve

This is the more vocal home area. Choose it for supporter culture and noise, accepting a less balanced end or corner view.

Value

A higher central sector on a long side

Prioritise a clean sightline and central position over simply being close to the pitch. Compare the exact sector and row on the official plan.

Away fans

Official visiting-supporter sector

Visiting fans use a segregated upper allocation; confirm block and Esplanade access.

GroundRoamer recommendation: For a first visit, choose a mid-height central seat on a long side. Select the main home end only when atmosphere matters more than a symmetrical view.

Allianz Arena stand comparison

Stand / area View and feel Best for Check before buying
Haupttribüne A side-on view that makes both goals and the overall shape of the match easier to read. First visits and the clearest overview Confirm the exact sector, level, row, access gate and any visibility warning before paying.
Gegengerade A side-on view that makes both goals and the overall shape of the match easier to read. Balanced view and seat choice Confirm the exact sector, level, row, access gate and any visibility warning before paying.
Südkurve An end view with a stronger supporter feel and a more dramatic view of attacks toward this goal. Home atmosphere Confirm the exact sector, level, row, access gate and any visibility warning before paying.
Nordkurve An end view with a stronger supporter feel and a more dramatic view of attacks toward this goal. End view; allocation varies Confirm the exact sector, level, row, access gate and any visibility warning before paying.

Lower tier or upper tier?

Mid-height on a long side gives the best balance of proximity and overview. Lower rows feel faster and louder; upper rows show shape and both goals more clearly but add stairs and distance.

Restricted-view check: Check the exact sector, row, railings, overhangs, media positions and every visibility warning on the official ticket page. The stand name alone is not enough.

Where do away fans sit at Allianz Arena?

Visiting fans use a segregated upper allocation; confirm block and Esplanade access. The club can alter the allocation, segregation route and entry gate by fixture or competition, so the current ticket and visiting-supporter notice override older plans.

Entrances and orientation

From Fröttmaning U6, follow signs across the Esplanade for your ticketed entrance. Visiting supporters must follow the separate signed visitors’ walk to the north-west guest entrance; use the fixture-specific instructions from the visiting club and arena. The official visiting-fans document includes an access diagram below.

  1. Save the ticket before travelling. Note the stand, sector or block, row, seat and gate or turnstile.
  2. Navigate to the correct side. On a busy matchday, walking a full lap can add 15–30 minutes.
  3. Use the access printed on your ticket. A famous gate or club-store entrance may not be a spectator turnstile.
  4. Ask a steward as soon as anything is unclear. Do not join a long queue until the stand and gate match your ticket.

Parking near Allianz Arena

Driving

The official matchday car parks are P1–P3 beneath the Esplanade. Follow the arena’s motorway and car-park approach for your direction of travel; register your number plate and pay through the current parking system. Exiting after a capacity crowd can take a long time, so do not schedule a tight onward connection. There is no quick drop-off at the stadium gates. Official parking and traffic guidance.

P1–P3

Official car parks

Follow event traffic signs. The arena recommends A9 exit 73 and the lower approach from the south; the upper approach from A99 München-Fröttmaning-Nord serves traffic from the north. Register and pay through the current number-plate system.

North-west guest parking

Visiting supporters have dedicated parking near their entrance. Follow the visiting-fans traffic signs; published vehicle size limits apply.

Accessible spaces are on level 3 of P1, with further spaces at guest parking. Check the blue EU permit and ticket requirements in the arena access guide.

Do not improvise street parking: resident zones, event-day closures and towing rules can change by fixture. If a space is not confirmed by the club, venue, city or a reputable booking provider, do not build the trip around it.

Hotels near Allianz Arena

Where to stay

For a city break: choose accommodation around Marienplatz or a station with an easy connection to U6. You can eat in the centre, then travel directly to Fröttmaning. For an early stadium tour: consider a hotel on the northern U6 corridor, but check the particular station and your late return before booking. The arena is set apart from the dense central hotel districts; a room described as “near Allianz Arena” may still require a transit connection or a long walk. Use the MVV journey planner with your actual hotel address and match end time.

Allianz Arena stadium tour

Visit without a match

Book an official Arena Tour or FC Bayern Museum visit for a non-matchday or an eligible matchday slot. Tour availability, route, meeting point and language depend on the selected date; the current booking confirmation controls access. The arena FAQ directs tour guests to the Paulaner Fan Meeting Point North by staircase M, 15 minutes before the booked start. Check the selected product rather than assuming a museum ticket includes a stadium tour. Official tour FAQ.

  1. Before travel: save the mobile ticket, check its block and entrance against the FC Bayern plan, and buy an MVV ticket separately. Recheck the arena’s bag rules and the fixture notice.
  2. Before kick-off: take U6 to Fröttmaning and allow time for the Esplanade walk and security queue. Away fans follow the signed north-west visiting route and their club’s instructions.

  • Check your exact block, row and any restricted-view warning before buying a ticket.
  • Use current official travel and access information on matchday.
  • Allow extra time after full-time: transport and nearby roads get busy.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best seats at Allianz Arena for a first visit?

Start with a central, side-on seat at a comfortable height if you want to follow both goals and the shape of the match. The best choice depends on the actual stand, block and row: compare the seating guidance with the current official seat plan before buying.

Can I see the view from my exact seat at Allianz Arena?

A stadium photograph only helps you orient yourself; it cannot guarantee the view from a particular seat. Use the club's current seat-view or seating tool when available, and check the precise block, row, railings and any warning on the ticket.

Which stand at Allianz Arena has the best atmosphere?

The most vocal area depends on the club and the fixture, so do not choose a stand from its name alone. Compare the stand descriptions and confirm the correct home or away allocation before selecting a ticket.

Is the lower tier or upper tier better at Allianz Arena?

A lower row usually feels closer to the pitch, while a higher central position may make the whole match easier to follow. Tier layouts differ between stadiums; check the official seating plan, stairs and accessibility requirements for your exact seat.

What does restricted view mean at Allianz Arena?

Part of the pitch or a goal may be blocked from some seats by a rail, overhang, structure or the position of the block. Read every restricted-view notice on the ticket and check the exact block and row on the venue's current seat plan before paying.

Where do away supporters sit at Allianz Arena?

Use the visiting-supporter information issued for your fixture and the stand or block printed on your ticket. Away allocations and entrances can change by match or competition; the seating section is orientation, not a substitute for your ticket.

How do I find my gate, block, row and seat at Allianz Arena?

Read your ticket in this order: stand or sector, entrance or turnstile, block, row and seat. Follow the entrance guidance to the right side of the ground and ask a steward before joining a queue if the signs do not match.

How early should I arrive at Allianz Arena for my first match?

Plan to reach the area about 90 minutes before kick-off as a starting point, and allow longer for ticket collection, security, food or a high-demand fixture. Gate opening times vary; check the instructions sent with your ticket and the current matchday notice.

What is the easiest way to get to Allianz Arena from Munich?

Start with the public-transport options in the getting there section, then check live services and the venue's matchday advice. The best route depends on where you start and on temporary road closures, so plan the return trip before leaving.

How do I get away from Allianz Arena after the match?

Decide your station, stop or pickup point before kick-off. Expect the nearest routes to be busy after full-time, follow stewards and use live operator updates rather than assuming the arrival route will work in reverse.

Can I park at or near Allianz Arena on matchday?

Use the parking guidance to check whether a space must be booked and whether nearby streets have event restrictions. Do not assume street parking is available; confirm any accessible parking arrangements directly with FC Bayern Munich.

What accessibility arrangements should I check before visiting Allianz Arena?

Confirm your accessible seat, step-free route, entrance and companion or parking arrangements with the official accessibility team before buying or travelling. Availability and access routes can vary by fixture. Check the official venue information before travelling.

Can I bring a bag into Allianz Arena?

Bag sizes, prohibited items and storage arrangements are venue policies that can change. Check the latest rules from FC Bayern Munich before leaving and bring only what you need; do not assume that bag storage is available. Check the official venue information before travelling.

Where can I eat or find the club shop near Allianz Arena?

The nearby section covers local options and landmarks. Opening hours, food availability and whether away supporters can enter a venue can change on matchday, so confirm any place you rely on in advance.

Can I visit Allianz Arena on a stadium tour without a match ticket?

Many venues sell tours separately, but availability and the route can change on matchdays or during events. Read the tour section and check the official booking page for current dates, access and prices before making travel plans.

Where should I buy tickets for a match at Allianz Arena?

Start with FC Bayern Munich or an officially authorised seller and check the competition's ticket rules. Confirm the exact seat, the delivery method, refund terms and any home or away supporter restrictions before paying. Check the official venue information before travelling.
